The cheapest bag is not always the least expensive daily diet. To compare two offers, calculate the actual ration, the price per day, the shipping costs and the risk of wastage. An interesting subscription must also remain editable, reportable and resiliable without complicated routes.
- Calculate the cost per day with the product ration.
- Include delivery, discounts and actual frequency.
- Check pause, change and termination.
- Avoid overstocking food that may change or be poorly tolerated.
1 From price per kilo to cost per day
Divide the price paid by the net weight to get the price per kilo, then multiply by the daily ration in kilograms. This calculation takes into account the fact that a more concentrated recipe can be served in less quantity.
For wet feeding, compare the format, number of units and the portion actually used. Add all the elements of a mixed diet.
2 Read the terms and conditions of the subscription
Check the discount, delivery costs, frequency, modification time, possibility of suspension and termination procedure. Good service must allow for adjustment of the next date when the bag lasts longer or shorter than expected.
The payment in several times can facilitate a large order, but it does not reduce its cost. Check the total amount and avoid financing a disproportionate stock.
3 Buy the right quantity
A lot is useful if consumption is stable, storage is dry and clean, and the date of durability is sufficiently distant. For a first recipe or a sensitive animal, start with a reasonable format.
At the breeder or pack, calculate the consumption per individual and keep a logistical margin without immobilizing several months of stock.
We give you clear, straightforward answers.
